Aaron’s just a normal kid doing the best he can with a shit childhood.  From a working-poor family in Middle-America, he grew up without much.  An unsupportive mother - never knew his father. 

His brother left home as soon as he was old enough.  Aaron’s barely been out of the trailer park, never mind the state.

Really, the only good thing he’s got going in his life is his girlfriend, Courtney.  She’s a year older than he and she has a passion for acting.  When she graduated, they made a deal: she’d waitress for a year, save money.  When he finished school, they’d move to New York together.  He’d take a job somewhere to support them so she could follow her dream.

He didn’t think of it as a sacrifice he’d be making for her.  It was just something he planned to do because he loved her.  It’s not like his home town had anything to offer him anyway.

Aaron’s not a kid with a plan for a better life.  He doesn’t know why he was put here.  He’s drifting.  And he figures, if Courtney knows what she wants, why not help her take a shot at happiness?
